Why it Must be Obama
We must choose Barack Obama as our Democratic Nominee. There are three major reasons why.
DNC vs. DLC
The first reason is for the sake of saving liberalism and the Democratic Party. We need to win the war within our party. In 1985 the DLC was founded. Standing for “Democratic Leadership Council”, this organization argues that Democrats can no longer win elections by running on a liberal agenda, and that we must instead nominate centrist candidates. The DLC has built a strong foundation and now includes many Democratic leaders. Some of the notable personalities include Evan Bayh, John Edwards, Rahm Emanuel, Dianne Feinstein, Harold Ford, Dick Gephardt, Al Gore, John Kerry, Joe Lieberman, Terry McAuliffe, and of course, Bill and Hillary Clinton. Notice that even fairly liberal Democrats such as Kerry & Gore have at least membership in the DLC. Here is a list of many DLC members. The DLC has deep corporate ties and is often referred to as the Republican wing of the Democratic party. They were in favor of dismantling Roosevelt’s New Deal policies, in favor of NAFTA, oppose single-payer universal healthcare, and strongly supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq - just to give you an idea of the kind of Democrats these are.
