Death Magnetic (Review)
*Inhales deeply* So… yeah I’m one of those Metallica fans, who like most Metallica fans, really means the “Old Metallica” from the 80s to the black album. But I still check out their albums cause there’s a few of the newer tracks here and there that I enjoy. Now, I think there’s just about universal agreement that 2003’s St. Anger was their worst album yet. My review of Death Magnetic is as follows: It was a better attempt.
Which means that I didn’t think it was good. Did it suck? Yeeeehhhh basically. I actually feel like some of the instrumental aspects on the album were pretty damn good, and even somewhat classic Metallica, but when James Hetfield started singing it was pretty much over. I just feel like he or maybe the band, I feel that they’re *trying* real hard. His voice just lacks the heart, soul, and sincerity that they used to have. Two solid album fails in a row = I’m officially done automatically checking out their new albums.
