The Moment

For those of you who didn’t happen to catch it and those abroad, here’s how most Americans saw Barack Obama win the Presidency, via CNN & MSNBC.  First we’ll look at CNN, which is what I was watching at that particular moment.  CNN called Virginia for Obama a little over a minute away from the west coast polls closing, at which point I knew that just California closing would put Obama over the top!  So it was kind of crazy knowing that in one minute he’d be declared President-elect.

Here’s how it looked on MSNBC, which probably had a bit more exciting footage, but totally messed up their location labels for where they were showing footage from after the win, but great footage none the less:
