- Quake Spy is essential for the internet quaker. It pings servers and displays them so you can see which one is better for you. It gives the number of players, their frag count, the map that the server is on, the rules on the server, and most importantly lets you find a server where there is little "lag". (Win 95)
Quest - Quest is supposedly the best quake editor for DOS. I have not made any attempts at creating new levels, so i would not know what to say about it, try it for yourself. (DOS)
- Thred is one of the top quake map editors. I did not yet have time to try to make any quake maps myself, but it seems that this is the editor of choice. (Win 95)
- WorldCraft is the other top map editor. I did not yet have time to make any quake maps myself, but this editor seems to be one of the best. (Win 95)
QuakeME - This is a Quake model editor. I have not had any experience with this yet, but it looks to be one that everbody uses. (Win 95)
QCC - This is da bomb! It is a compiler that will compile Quake-C code. Quake-C is similar to C, but very limited. It can be used to edit virtually every aspect of Quake. Such great things like Capture The Flag, Quake Soccer, and the infamous Grappling Hook would not have been possible had it not been for Quake-C. You must have some background knowledge in C in order to write Quake-C programs. (DOS)
QCC for win32 - This is a recompiled qcc that runs very fast on Pentiums and 32 bit windows.
Quake-C Manual - Tells you all you need to know about how to program in Quake-C.
WinQuake - Winquake is a native Win32 version of Quake, and will run on either Win95 or Windows NT 4.0 or later. It is designed to take advantage of whatever enhanced video, sound, and input capabilities(such as DirectX or VESA VBE video modes) are present. Winquake 1.00 documentation.
GLquake - This is a version of quake that is supposed to be outstanding for people who have video cards with 3D accelerators. Adds shadows to quake and you can now see through water.
- Quake Soccer is great. The level is a soccer field with the 2 usual goals and a bloody head as a soccer ball. There is even a spectator room! You can charge up your boot and really launch it. This one is awesome.
- This is the best bot for quake in my opinion. It has a skill adjust so you can change how good it is. This bot actually explores levels and remembers them by itself. Now you don't need to be hooked up to the internet to have multiplayer action!
BGBot - This is another quake bot. This one acts more like a human than Reaper Bot but does not have many features such as the skill adjust. I think this bot is also too easy.
- This bot is designed to work with Capture The Flag! It knows how to use grappling hooks and helps you out when you need it. Now you don't even need to be hooked up to a network to play ctf!
GOD - God mode on/off.
Impulse -1 = Quad Damage
Impulse 9 = Give all weapons and full ammo.
MAP * - Level skip. Example: MAP E3M5 would take you to episode 3, map 5.
NOCLIP - Walk through walls on/off.
PlanetQuake has a very complete list of all the console commands.
